Arch Bishop Mohan Lal was born into a financially challenged non Christian family in a rural village. After losing his father at a young age, he was raised under difficult circumstances and could not continue his education beyond the 10th standard. Through the help of an evangelist, he received education in a Christian school where he first encountered Jesus Christ and accepted Him as Lord and Savior on June 20, 1977 at the age of 16.
Though he desired to join the armed forces to support his family, a divine calling led him into ministry. He began as an evangelist and went on to serve faithfully for over two decades in pastoral and leadership roles including Pastor, District Superintendent, Field Director, and Vice President within the Baptist Church of North India.
Bethesda Biblical Institute is committed to the historic Christian faith as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. The following articles set forth the core doctrinal convictions that guide our theological education and ministry.
We believe that the Holy Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and infallible Word of God. The Scriptures are the final and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. They are without error in their original writings and are sufficient for all that pertains to salvation, doctrine, and Christian living.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal, co-eternal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully and equally God, yet there is one God. The Trinity is the foundational mystery of the Christian faith, and all Christian theology is grounded in the knowledge of the Triune God.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who became flesh through the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for the sins of all who believe, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and will return personally and visibly in glory. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the one Mediator between God and humanity.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, seals, and empowers all true believers. He guides the Church into all truth, gifts believers for ministry, and produces the fruit of godly character in those who walk in submission to Him.
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice, and are therefore under the just condemnation of God. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is the gift of God and not the result of human effort or merit. All who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are justified before God, forgiven of sin, and receive eternal life.
We believe in the universal Church, the body of Christ, which is composed of all true believers from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. The Church is called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and serve the world in the name of Christ. The local church is the primary expression of the body of Christ and the context for Christian fellowship, accountability, and ministry.
We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. At His return, the dead will be resurrected and all will stand before God in judgment. Those who have trusted in Christ will inherit eternal life in the presence of God. Those who have rejected Christ will face eternal separation from God. We hold these truths as a motivation for holy living, faithful ministry, and urgent evangelism.
